LTI Executive Board Elections

LTI's final General Body Meeting of the semester was held on April 22, 2009. The meeting commenced with a game of charades and home baked goods. The meeting focused on the election of the 2009-2010 Executive Board. Congratulations to the new Executive Board!

Spring 2009 Closing Ceremony

LTI's 2009 Closing Ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 10, 2009. The Ceremony will focus on the efforts and progress of the students and showcase their independent service projects. MIT Deans, LTI Executive Board, current students' family, friends, and faculty members, and LTI alumni are expected to attend.

LTI Annual Spring Retreat

LTI had its first annual spring retreat on April 24, 2009. The executive board and mentors bonded over an afternoon outing on Boston Commons and dinner at the local family restaurant, Maggiano's.

Summer Expansion

Four members of the LTI community, Sandra Chen, David Zou, Taylor Jay, and Jia Zhu are traveling to Shenzhen, China this August to participate as part of the Service Leadership Program sponsored by MIT's China Development Initiative. They will be implementing LTI's curriculum with an international development emphasis.

Due to health precautions, LTI's expansion trip to Casa Telmex locations in Mexico has been postponed to the 2009-2010 school year.
