Apply to Become an LTI Mentor
The MIT Leadership Training Institute strives to match local area high school students with MIT undergraduate mentors in order to foster leadership skills, teamwork abilities, self-reflection and identity. If you're interested in making a difference in the lives of motivated high school students, we'd like you to become a mentor.
The following criteria are used to select mentors:
- Leadership experiences
- Passion for teaching
- Commitment
- Moral integrity
- Self-motivation
Mentors will be required to be at every session. Each session is from 12:00 pm to 4:00 am on Sundays. If you miss more than two sessions, you will be removed from the program. There will be little preparation needed each week, and your main goal is to get to know the students. The students will look up to the mentors for advise and examples of leadership. We trust that each of you will exemplify a respectable leadership style, making you a positive role model for each student.
When you're ready to apply, first make sure that you've registered for an account. Then, proceed to the application page. After decisions are made, you can return here to check on the status of your application.
