Accomplishments
Summer 2007: HSSP-LTI Summer Session I (Pilot Program)
- Opened Sunday, July 1, 2007
- A pilot program for spring session
- Over twenty-five students participated, with twelve successfully graduating from program
Fall 2007: Creating LTI
- Recruited fourteen additional staff members, including eight MIT mentors, four Directors, and six Committee Chairs
- Raised $12,000 for program
Spring 2008: LTI Spring Session I
- 8 students accepted and completed graduation from program
Summer 2008: HSSP-LTI Summer Session II
- Three LTI student alums returning to be mentors
- Over thirty-six high school students participating in summer session
Summer 2008: Casa Telmex in Mexico
- Translated LTI curriculum into Spanish and modified to integrate technologies
- Workshops of LTI implemented in Casa Telmex throughout Mexico
Summer 2008: Student Leadership Program (CDI-SLP) in China
- Created partnership with CDI-SLP to guarantee two LTI members to teach LTI in China every year for sustainability
- Students in China were taught abridged version of LTI in Suzhou, China with ten MIT mentors
